THE FRANKLIN COMMENTARY
(September 7, 2005) No question that the game of the week is
Texas at
Ohio State.
Since the bettors have called this one a pick em, you can too. However, it
will be tough for
Texas to overcome the home field advantage that
Ohio State will enjoy so look for
Ohio State to move up in the polls, and
Texas to look forward to
Oklahoma later in the
season.
Other key match ups include
Notre Dame at
Michigan , with
Michigan
favored by seven. Give the seven and watch
Michigan move up in
the polls behind
USC and try to stay
focused the rest of the year until big match ups later with
Iowa and the season
closer with
Ohio State.

It is still early in the season, but you can already look forward to several
other key match ups later in the year. ESPN's mentioned the
possibility of four or five undefeated teams, and a close look at the
schedule shows that four could make it happen (substitute Ohio St. for Michigan,
Tennessee for LSU). More likely the BCS ends up with a mess on it's hands
again with five or six schools with one loss, rewarding the school that lost the
earliest (Oklahoma anyone?)
