November 7, 2007

Last year we thought the DOW had peaked, but we still liked certain stocks.  Most have done very well, and we believe they will continue to do well.  Our picks:

  Price
  12/12/2006 11/7/2007
Textron - TXT 47.51 69.71 22.2 46.73% (split adjusted)
 Microsoft - MSFT 29.43 36.41 6.98 23.72%
 Sears Holding - SHLD 175.19 128.5 -46.69 -26.65%
 Wachovia - WB 56.36 42.45 -13.91 -24.68%
 Royal/Dutch - RDS/A 70.38 85.24 14.86 21.11%
 Dicks Sporting - DKS 27.025 29.63 2.605 9.64% (split adjusted)
 General Electric - GE 35.64 39.9 4.26 11.95%

Gold - GLD 62.52 83.21 20.69 33.09%
Oil EFT - USO 52.55 75.94 23.39 44.51%
Bank of America - BAC 52.8 44.95 -7.85 -14.87%

We missed on the banks stocks of course, but their dividends have kept you in the game.  Our best picks were Textron and the Oil Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) USO.

We have put together some charts and written an article to explain the Sub-Prime write downs, and what is happening with some of the banks.  The question of course is:  Is now the time to jump in?

Also next week, we adjust our favorites, and advise you what to sell, and what you should be buying.

Our favorite picks from 2006

Investing in stocks involves risk, and you should be prepared to understand those risks, including losing your principle investment, prior to investing in any financial investments, including, stocks, bonds and other types of investments.
